Brian Jacobson, Principal/Creative Director Brian has more than 17 years experience developing brand identity, corporate communications and packaging programs for companies such as Apple Computer, Cisco Systems, Coca-Cola, General Mills, Kraft Foods, Sony Electronics, Unilever and Xerox Corporation. His ability to combine marketing strategies with creative solutions has translated into awards and recognition from numerous design organizations. Prior to starting Focus Design, Brian held senior creative positions at top international design firms and Apple Computer. He graduated with honors from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena and has taught graphic design at the Academy of Art in San Francisco for more than 5 years. Brian's work has been recognized by numerous design organizatiions and publications,including American Corporate Identity, Graphis, Graphic Design USA, International Packaging, Print Magazine, the San Francisco Show and the Western Art Directors Club. As Focus Design's Creative Director, Brian is responsible for overseeing the firm's creative process and managing all art direction. Kirby Veach, Partner/Project Director Kirby has worked extensively in corporate and marketing communications since 1980. Before that -- another story. Kirby has visual and editorial expertise in all the venues of the branding experience from both the corporate and marketing points of view: print, broadcast, and online environments. His work produces results and has garnered a fair share of awards. Prior to joining Focus Design, Kirby directed his own communications firm through numerous design and advertising programs for a diverse range of national and international clients, including major branding programs for clients such as Disney, Kaiser Permanente, Hewlett Packard, Warner Brothers Records, and Bank of America among many others. As Project Director at Focus Design, Kirby is responsible for client service, strategy development, editorial creative, and management of design. This work has included branding programs for California Healthcare Foundation, Motorola, Cal-State University-East Bay, Golden West Specialty Foods, Wells Fargo, and American President Lines. He began his career as a copywriter/concept guy for a Los Angeles advertising agency after a colorful and funny adventure in the music business. He then transitioned into design communications at Bass/Yager & Associates, working on national and international corporate and brand identity programs for clients such as Exxon/Esso, Minolta, United Airlines, Lawry's, California Milk Advisory Board's introduction of Real California Cheese, and AT&T, among so many others. Following some memorable times at a couple of very creative agencies, he was off on his own. Life continues to be a rich and rewarding ride. |
